NEWS: 16 February 2006 Peter Gabriel uses Oxford Plugins for Olympic Performance![]() Peter Gabriel was recently invited to perform Lennon’s “Imagine” at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games in Torino. Dickie Chappell, Peter’s engineer, told us that they worked in the studio to get a good backing track before going out, and Peter wanted the same vocal sound as they had achieved in the studio using the Oxford Plug-ins. So, for the first time, Peter’s voice was processed live through the Oxford EQ, Dynamics and Reverb running in real time on a laptop and Digi 002. “I plugged into the monitor insert”, Dickie told us, “and this was sent to the broadcast and front of house. I was worried about it initially, because if I’d lost the input on my laptop, the whole chain out to the world would have been lost! But it was stable and sounded great ! All the sound departments were just fine using the feed from my laptop, and Peter was very happy having the studio mix sound in the stadium and for TV.” <<< Go back to News Website www.sonnoxplugins.com
